A Considered Interior Refresh

Sometimes a home doesn’t need a complete transformation — it simply needs the right finishing touches to bring the spaces together and reflect the way the owners live.

McMahon Design was engaged to assist this busy client with refining and updating key areas of the home through carefully considered design enhancements. The focus was on replacing outdated elements, introducing new layers of texture and colour, and creating a more cohesive and elevated interior.

The living area was refreshed with updated feature lighting, while a statement pendant was introduced in the guest room to add personality and visual interest. New window treatments and custom headboards were designed to enhance the comfort, warmth and overall aesthetic of the spaces.

With two large dogs as part of the household, practicality was a key consideration throughout the design process. Fabric selections for the recovery of an existing sofa required careful consideration to ensure durability while still achieving a beautiful result. A generously sized custom rug was also selected with both aesthetics and everyday resilience in mind, allowing the family to enjoy the space without compromising on style.

The outdoor entertaining and pool area was another focus of the project. Previously lacking cohesion and warmth, the space was revitalised through carefully selected outdoor fabrics for sun lounges and outdoor sofas, complemented by custom cushions designed to tie the entire scheme together.

Through thoughtful selections and a focus on both beauty and functionality, McMahon Design helped transform these spaces into a more inviting, practical and personalised home.
